Delores Madison attended Amos P. Godby High School in Tallahassee, Florida. She received her bachelor degrees in Economic, Accounting, and Business Education from Florida A&M University, and a graduate of the Institute for Elected Municipal Officials, Advanced Institute for Elected Municipal Officials, Florida League of Cities Local Government Leadership Program and Florida League of Cities Institute for Community Housing.
Prior to being elected to the City Council in 2001, Madison worked with Florida Department of Law Enforcement for 5 years, an auditor for 15 years, and is currently working with the Agency for Workforce Innovation. She is active in the St. Luke Primitive Baptist Church, and a member of many organizations including Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, Leon Court of Calanthe, Eastern Stars, NAACP, Capital Regional Transportation and Planning Agency, Apalachee Regional Planning Council, Northwest Florida League of Cities and President of the Gadsden County Democratic Black Caucus of Florida. She is single, has one son and five grandchildren.
Madison’s vision is to have a school, second fire station, police department and to create both an efficient and effective government that promotes unity, diversity and good business relationships while committed to providing an excellent quality of life for the citizens of Midway.
