The Midway Economic Development Council was established by the City Council to foster, recruit and encourage desirable economic development in the City; to work with business owners, land owners and developers, and other agencies having responsibilities in economic development; and to develop and maintain a strategic plan designed to identify major community programs and Projects.

Midway has almost 1000 acres of land available for commercial development. Most of the land has roads, water, sewer, electric and high speed internet access available. We are in the process of bringing natural gas into the commercial areas for those businesses who wish to use gas. Almost all of the vacant land is included in an Enterprise Zone, which will provide your business with a number of different tax advantages. Enterprise Zones offer advantages not found elsewhere. Midway is also both a Champion Community and a REDI Community. All of the commercial area located near the I-10/US 90 Interchange is zoned "IC" - Interchange Commercial. There are great advantages in that zoning category, the most important of which is the ability to get your construction Newly relocated T-Formation from Tallahassee into the 10/90 Plaza. permits quickly, without having to jump through hoops which normally could take a year. You are able to get your construction started and completed, thus saving you time and money. Click on the link below to view the Interchange Commercial Ordinance.
